Triwizard au info
Jul. 6th, 2014 01:52 pm Elsa Arendelle.
School: Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. 7th year. Head Girl.
Wand: Pine with Veela hair. One of her Grandmother's. Very in tune with her own magical ability. Capable of easily using nonverbal magic.
Patronus: Snowy Owl.
Quarter Veela. She inherited the Veela gene very strongly, and looks very much like a pure Veela, as well as seemingly having the same natural charm/seduction as a pure Veela, though she tries to hide it out of a dislike for the way it makes many people act around her.
The Veela's specific magic, which doesn't require a wand, mixed with the magic gene, seem to have allowed Elsa to learn wandless magic at a young age, and she has become very adept at it. Though, like the other traits she's inherited from her Veela genes, she doesn't showcase it, preferring to use her wand. Though her wand's core (one of her grandmother's hairs) makes her wand acutely in tune with her own magic, and she can cast most of her spells as easily as she would with her wandless magic, and all of them non verbally, which makes her a powerful witch, and a skilled dueler should the need arise.
When she was younger she was much more easy going and fun. She didn't hide her looks or her magic, and was quite proud of both, as they were part of her heritage. Signs of where she came from. What she is.
As she got older though, and more people started taking notice of her, she started to notice that most of them, never bothered to get to know her. They would smile and show off and try to get close to her. But she could talk to them for ages without them listening to a word she said. They would put on a show to try to seem impressive, and she would never be able to get to know the real them. After a while she started to shut them out, and try to tone her attractiveness down to prevent this. Eventually she stopped using her wandless magic as well. This still wasn't enough to stop it though, and she now has trouble letting herself open up and become close to people she's just met.
Because of her shutting herself off from people though, she's become much more serious. Not that she doesn't miss having fun though. She simply doesn't know how to anymore. Not without letting go and just, being herself again.
She decided to enter the Triwizard Tournament as a way of breaking free and pushing her limits. She wants to prove to herself that she won't remain trapped by her fear of the way some people act around her, and can let go and be herself again. She sees the tasks as a way of forcing herself to stop holding back.
P.S: BEWARE THE GORGEOUS BOMB. No, seriously. The gorgeous bomb pretty much unleashes all her Veela "turn guys into drooling idiots" power on anyone who dares to look at her/what
Measures she takes to try to make herself look more plain: She always wears her hair up. Most of the time in a bun, and if not, in a braid. But never down. The gorgeous bomb should never be underestimated/what.
Slouches very slightly and hunches her shoulders just enough to draw her chest in a little to make her appear..smaller.
She wears a size too big casual clothes and non-formal uniform, to hide her figure with the baggy clothes.
She doesn't wear makeup. Not that she really needs it, but hey.
She's developed the habit of covering her mouth with a hand when she laughs.
She doesn't dance.
Basically, when Edna meets her for the weighing of the wands, she's going to throw a fit and demand to let her fix her/what
