I need to stop coming up with alternate au's--who am I kidding I can't stop will never stop
Jackson Overland/Frost needed work. He and his little sister were recently orphaned, and though his real passion was writing, nothing he wrote these days was selling. He needed work.
Which brought him to the MoonHaven. He'd learned from a friend, that they were hiring security. The requirements were simple. Know how to handle yourself in a fight without endangering the people around you, protect the girls, and most importantly, Don't take advantage of the girls.
It seemed perfect. Jack knew better than most his age how to take care of himself and others, and though he wasn't completely innocent of looking, he was gentleman enough not to try anything. And the work payed well. A week in and he'd made decent money, started friendly competition with the other guards on who could throw the violent drunks the furthest out of the place, and he got on well with the owner and head of security. The people here were all family, and Jack found himself enjoying the work more than just needing it.
But then, he met the star. She'd been away for a few weeks looking after her siblings, who had been sick. But now, they were better, and she was back at work.
And Jack fell for her the second he heard her sing.
